Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using Advanced Remote Controller ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Advanced Remote Controller is a mobile application that allows users to control Roku streaming devices over a local WiFi network using the Roku External Control Protocol (ECP). The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roku, Inc.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

4. Requirements

  • An iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later
  • A Roku device connected to the same WiFi network
  • Local network access permission granted to the App

5. Subscriptions

The App offers an optional auto-renewable yearly subscription at $12.99/year that unlocks premium features. Subscription details:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period (if offered) will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

6. Premium Features

Premium subscription may include access to features such as touchpad navigation, voice search, keyboard input, channel shortcuts, and any other premium feature we add in the future.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App
  • Use the App to interfere with or disrupt devices you do not own or have permission to control

8. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and intellectual property in the App are owned by us or our licensors. Roku is a trademark of Roku, Inc. and is used here solely for descriptive purposes.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be compatible with all Roku devices or firmware versions, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our business.

13. Third-Party Services

The App interacts with Roku devices via their publicly available External Control Protocol. We are not responsible for any changes Roku, Inc. makes to their devices, firmware, or protocols that may affect App functionality.

14. Apple App Store

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
